The Imperial Japanese began their Invasion in the Philippines on 8 Dec 1941.

The 86th Field Artillery resorted to fighting together among American and Filipino forces when compelled to surrender on 9 Apr 1942.

Private First Class Alcantara became a POW and was imprisoned at Pow Camp O ‘donnell, he survived the Bataan Death March, but died shortly after it.

 

Antonio is born 1918 in the Philippines.

Antonio enlisted the service in the Philippines with service number # 10304958.

 

Antonio died as a POW on May 13, 1942, he  is honored with a POW Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Antonio is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
