James entered  the service from Colorado with service-number # 6192558.

 

James was KIA when the Sub sunk by Depth Charges of a Japanese Destroyer in the Luzon Strait, Philippine Sea, on Oct. 24, 1944, he is honored with a  Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

James is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
