Raymond was KIA  when the USS Intrepid was struck by an torpedo during Operation Hailstone, on Feb. 16, 1944, he is honored with a  Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Raymond is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
