The Imperial Japanese began their Invasion in the Philippines on 8 Dec 1941.

The 57th resorted to fighting together among American and Filipino forces when compelled to surrender on 9 Apr 1942.

Private First Class Alarde became a POW and was imprisoned at Pow Camp no record, he survived the Bataan Death March, but died shortly after it.

 

Leon is born in 1919 in the Philippines.

Leon enlisted the U.S.Army in Philippines with service number # 10302813.

 

Leon died as a POW on July 21, 1942, he is honored with a POW Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Leon is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
