Robert was KIA when he landed the beaches of Iwo Jima and his tractor was hit by a shell, he and a other heavenly wounded Soldier where brought to the USS Cecil for treatment, but he died , on Feb. 19, 1945, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
Robert is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
