Paul was KIA after delivered parts off the Atomic Bomb to Tinian, the USS Indianapolis got torpedoed and Sunk at the Philippine Sea by the Japanese Submarine I-58 on July 30, 1945, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Expeditionary Medal, Combat Action Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Paul is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial Manila, metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
