Ralph was KIA during the Mission to Iwo-Jima when the plane was shot by Enemy Fighters and crashed on Feb. 8, 1945, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Air Medal with 6 Oak Leaf Cluster, Distinguished Flying Cross, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Ralph is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
